One huge issue with the QuickTime player on Windows is that on many machines DirectX acceleration does not work properly. To disable DirectX acceleration, do the following:
- Open QuickTime Player and select the menu item Edit: Preferences: QuickTime Preferences...
- Select the Advanced tab
- In the Video section, select the Safe Mode (GDI only) radio button
- Click OK to close all dialogs
Note: The QuickTime player does not support streams with MP3 audio. So Flash Media Live Encoder streams that use MP3 audio will not play using QuickTime player.
