    3. Wowza nDVR

Wowza nDVR AddOn provides the ability to record a live stream with Wowza Media Server while simultaneously allowing users to play, pause, resume, and rewind the recorded stream. Custom configuration allows you to control the archive strategy and availability of your recorded streams.

Setup for client playback of recorded streams is similar to playback of live streams from Wowza Media Server.

Wowza nDVR supports HTTP playback of recorded streams using the following streaming protocols:
    • Adobe® HTTP Dynamic Streaming (Adobe HDS/San Jose)
    • Apple® HTTP Live Streaming (Apple HLS/Cupertino)
    • Microsoft® Smooth Streaming (Smooth)

Wowza nDVR requires that the audio and video in an incoming stream be aligned. Input streams with short key frame intervals and aligned audio and video work best. Full information about Wowza nDVR can be found in the Wowza nDVR AddOn User's Guide.

Note: Wowza Media Server® 3.0.0 or later is required.
