    Unhappy Amazon EC2 and Wowza2

    Hi,

I created a new instance of EC2 using Elastifox. I can play the example media that is mentioned in the guide. Now, I want to upload new media to EC2.

How do I get SSH and FTP access to the EC2 server? I am trying to go through the guide but no luck yet.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thanks,

    Ashish

In Elasticfox, you can right-click on the instance and go to "connect to instance", which will launch a PuTTY ssh session. You'll need to set up a keypair to do this.

    Angry At a loss

    Hi,

I am at a loss of why this is not working even from windows machine. When I try to connect to the instance, Putty throws me access denied error. I created pem file, loaded that into puttygen and saved the ppk file. I use that file to connect to the instance using putty.exe.

I have created 3 or 4 ppk files. Every time I used it I get access denied.

Can someone help me? Why is it so hard to connect to EC2????

    With Regards,

    Ashish

    Ashish,

When did you create the pem file? The pem file you want is the key pair that you used to create the instance. So if you are creating new files after that, you are just making new keys that will not fit the lock you want to open.

I am using Vista to connect. maybe thats the reason. Vista is a funky OS. I will try XP next.

For Windows/Putty, this is the definitive guide:

    http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/Am...sg/2006-06-26/

You need putty-gen to create the PPK file from the keypair pem file.

Ohh. That could be the reason. Thanks Richard.

Make sure you use the keyfile from the keypair you launched the instance with.
