Thread: Can't access Wowza in Windows 7

Wowza Server 3 will run on turkish OS. The issues is the Java local. Java will use the machine default locale which when set to Turkish language can cause problems with parsing the configuration XML file values. Try editing [install-dir]/bin/setenv.bat and add this line (it may already be in there commented out - delete rem):

    Code:
    set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=US
Also, I will have sales follow up on the disconnected license issue. There should be options available.

thank you charlie for the quick response,
but i already tried that setting for java local, still have the same on turkish os win 2008r2 64bit with i7 cpu..
also if you want i can provide you a virtual windows with turkish locale, turkish language etc..
    you may check it yourself..

for the disconnected license issue, lets see when you get an answer for us..

ps:we bought the license for wowza 3, transcoder and ndvr.. but cant use it because of the turkish and license issues..
they are now useless and we cant give them back to you.. i wrote many times to support , no one replied it.. ah sorry , john west said something..
but he asked me interesting questions about my license and how i will use it.. (request number 24228)
let me tell you my problem, my customers buys full ready project and they pay for all-in-one..
i buy license from your company and give it to them inside my application, (07/10/2011 ticket number 16068) i asked about this, i want to resell, or just buy and give the license to my customer..
to test the system on real servers, we bought a license for wowza 3, and ndvr, installed on server , not worked because of turkish locale. then we changed the locale to english for test, then we saw that it not works again, saw that wowza 3 trying to access outside for license check..
i asked your support team about this issue, "you can not sell or give your license to your customer" said (john west), without understanding my issue..
i asked him what will i do , the customer's server can't access to internet, he asked again "tell me how you sell your license, did you earn money?"..
i am asking what, he is asking what!!..
as you see and i have more..we got interesting talks..

at the end: your customer relations or support sucks.. this is what i can say..

there were 350 license selling waiting your company, but it was not interesting for your customer relations..
the only thing that they are interested in "you can not sell your own license to another company"..
i did not sell it, i put it in my project and give it inside..

now we use red5 and fms.. sorry... you were late.. and our wowza3 license is useless.. because still we cant use it..

    thanks..

To follow up on the Turkish locale issue, we tested again and confirmed that you can run Wowza Media Server on Turkish OS, Turkish regional settings and change the Java locale for Wowza Media Server to en-US locale. See Charlie’s post below for the syntax. For users who want to read more about the known bug with Turkish Java locale, see this article.

Please write to sales@wowza.com with this request. I think they will want to know the last 4 digits of a license key.
