Wowza 3: no video recorded, only sound

Hi,

I'm using wowza server 3, installed on EC2 and with an S3 mount. We're recording video/sound through flash on a webpage. It all works well, except for one thing: the weird behaviour we're noticing right now is that sometimes, the recording only has sound, and no image. The first time we noticed this was with my computer, when using Chrome (18.0.1025.151) to view the page and record a video. It works perfectly from Firefox (11.0). I've tried to find some information from someone else, but couldn't find anything so far that would help. (I did dig out http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9...-without-video and http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....ngAudioOrVideo, but it didn't help).

It reliably fails on Chrome, and reliably works on Firefox. For other people in my team, the recording works on all browsers.

If anyone came accross this before, it would be great to know if they got around it!

Flash streaming favors audio in playback I know, and in publishing too I think. So this might be the result of low bandwidth uplink for the publishing client. I'm not sure why it would be different in Chrome vs FF since they use the same Flash plugin. I don't think there is anything you can do on the Wowza side, which reflects and records the stream it gets, to fix this.

One thing to do, check the VHost.xml SocketConfiguration settings and enable the settings recommended for "low latency chat and video recording applications"

And make sure the server is properly tuned otherwise:

Thanks Richard for the prompt reply. Interestingly, I fixed it through this: http://blog.mailvu.com/blog/solution...-applications/. I uninstalled the google and voice plugins, and it works. Very sad that something like this exists, but I do strongly hope there's a fix in future releases of google/flash plugins.
