See if this patch fixes the problem:
WowzaMediaServer3.1.1-patch1.zip
Please report back findings. I do not have a good way to test on Win 8.

Thanks Charlie!
I have to talk with the client first, it may be a few days before I can report back, but as soon as possible I'll give you news.
You are the best! :-D

This may be a dumb question, but I really need to ask it...when applied, these changes of the patch mantain retrocompatibility of the streaming services with other client applications right? I believe there exist multiple clients, apple, android, silverlight and wp7 too. These changes affect only the "Manifest" related streams, and I should only "worry" about these ones, or are transversal to all streaming services and I should be more cautious?
Don't take me wrong Charlie, It's just that I better have good arguments to explain why the client won't need to worry about applying this patch. Probably we will set up a staging environment for testing first, but to enter production I really need wowza behind my back
.
Thanks!

All other protocols should be unaffected. I would certainly test in staging environment. It is a development build that has not been thoroughly tested.

Hi Charlie,
sorry for the delayed response. We were able to test your patch only today, in fact just right now, and I'm sorry to say it's not working. The problem remains the same, the video loops every 2 seconds.
The requests still have the same malformated url:

Can you help us again please?
We have a deadline on 01/06. This time I believe we will be able to test the patches quickly.
Thank you,
Ricardo

hi,
After applying patch to wowza server live stream was randomly working with html5/js based windows 8 app. Same stream was not working at all inside windows 8 app using c#/xaml.
I have upgraded my server to wowza 3.5.1. let me know how can I help you to debug and resolve this issue for windows8/smooth streaming.

This is not supported at present, as far as I know
