    Question Streaming muted video

    Hi,

Is it somehow possible by specifying the (http GET) URL parameter to instruct the WOWZA server to send the video HLS stream without the audio track?? We need to shjow on the screen the muted (silent) video while the audio is streamed from other source.

We need that to be configurable by client request, since some videos should be streamed with the audio track.

    Sten,

There is not a way to do that with cupertino (HLS) streaming. (There is a way with RTMP)

    Hi Andrew!

Thanks for answering. Does it mean that if I need particular video to be streamed once with audio and once muted (I will not change it during the streaming) I need first to transcode the video file (remove the audio track or mute it) and upload the same video twice in the WOWZA content folder once with audio and once without?

Is that the only way? Because it will double the required disk capacity.

    Thanks

Yes, for non-RTMP clients I don't know a way to do what you are describing. You would have to provide a video only version.
