Wowza 2 can't save file to mp4!

Wowza is not doing any transcoding in this case, it is just recording the stream. Wowza does put the moov atom at the end of the file which might be a problem for some uses, especially progressive download, and possibly video editing tools. You should be able to stream the file in Wowza vod application.

It's not clear if writing Speex to mp4 container is supported at present. We are investigating. Meanwhile try saving to .flv first, then transcoding to h.264/aac in a mp4 container.

With according to changelog of 3.5.2: "Added speex audio support to mp4 containers so speex audio can be recorded to and streamed from mp4 files."
Speex is now support with MP4 container. Do you have any plan to incorporate the patch to Wowza 2.2.4?

No, sorry, new features are not added to old versions of Wowza. You can still upgrade to Wowza 3 (3.5.2 at present) for free from Wowza 2.
