Unhappy bitrate switch with edge application doesn't work

    Hi there,

I am testing with an origin - edge setup and multibitrate streams.

    - Flash media encoder is pushing a stream to a wowza origin application.
    - I can watch the stream from the edge application

However, when i give a play2 command from the flash player to switch to another bitrate, it doesn't work.

The strange thing is that it DOES work when we connect to the origin application.

Is this not implemented for edge, a bug, or am i missing some configvalues ?

I hope you can help me with this.

It is but there is a bit of extra work that needs to be done on the edge and in your player to make it all work. We have not documented this as of yet. When I get a chance I will document how to set it up.

Ok, we will wait for it.

by the way, i read in a thread that pushing of streams was high on the todo list. what is the status of that?

We are still considering push publishing.

Any news on this, guys? I've just tried the same thing on an origin-edge setup, both version "Wowza Media Server 2 Subscription 2.0.0.11 build23886" and still doesn't work.

And by the way, the pause() function doesn't seem to work, either...

Any thoughts on these would be appreciated. Thanks.

At this time the answer we still do not have a generally available release of this technology.

    James,

Apply Patch 5. Be sure to delete the 3 files in the Wowza /lib folder in IMPORTANT note:

    http://www.wowzamedia.com/downloads/...1.2-patch5.zip

Carefully ready the IMPORTANT!!! notice in the README.txt file of the patch. Several core components have been upgraded:
