Default File caching on edge/peer servers

File caching on edge servers is a vital function that FMS offers and I was wandering if Wowza can also support that.
The idea is simple: Streams are recorded on the origin server. Viewers connect to the closest servers (edge) and request a recoderd video. Edge server then contacts the origin server and while streaming the file to viewer it also saves a local version of the original file for future use.
On FMS there is a CacheDir parameter that can be set on edge/peer server. Is there any way I can configure that on Wowza too? If not, can someone please tell me how could I approach this problem on Wowza?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
I have same question as selfxp, if the edge server caches anything like FMS does when the edge server request content from the origin server. In addition to selfxp question I also wondering if there is any build-in function for automatic propagation of live Publishing Points? for exemple if the edge server missing the requested live Publishing Point, is there anyway to let the edge server setup as orgin server's live Publishing Points?

There is no automatic propogation of live publishing points. You can send a stream to multiple origins and setup stream failover. It is described in the User's Guide. You just separate the origin urls with the | (pipe) character.
