Default not playing on iphone or ipod touch

    Hi,

The video is not playing on an iphone safari browser. I followed the steps outlined in "How to play a video on demand file" on page "http://www.wowzamedia.com/quickstart.html#vod".

    And the link is:

    http://myip:1935/myapplication/mp4:h.../playlist.m3u8
    and
    http://myip:1935/app/mp4:h264aac.mp4/playlist.m3u8

It does not play. Maybe I am missing something.

I also applied the patch9 that charlie posted on this forum page:
    http://www.wowzamedia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8015

    Thanks,

    Ashish

    Ashish,

    It works on port 80:
    http://67.227.218.118:80/carnegie/mp.../playlist.m3u8

So port 1935 is the problem.

It's a good idea to test on Flash first. Use the LiveVideoStreaming example or JW player.

Also, you have not properly installed the patch. Going to this URL:

    http://67.227.218.118:1935

returns the server version number which is still:

    Wowza Media Server 2 Developer 2.0.0 build22912

So either you have not applied the patch correctly or have not restarted the server after applying the patch.

    Hi Charlie,

Its working on iPhone now. Somehow port 1935 was blocked. I opened it up. I am using the dev version of wowza. Shouldn't that link show the version number of wowza? I thought that was the result that was expected.

    Thanks,

    Ashish

It's working correctly, it shows you are using Wowza 2 but have not applied any patches. You can get the latest patch here:
