Thread: video on iPhone

    Default video on iPhone

    Hi,

I have mp4 file playing on an iPhone through Safari Browser. The link to that is:

    http://myip:80/myapplication/mp4:h26.../playlist.m3u8

The format of the file is h264 video with aac audio. I am trying to play mov and mp3 files as well. The links below does not play on an iPhone. I tried the links below:

    1) For mp3:

    http://myip:80/myapplication/mp3:fil.../playlist.m3u8

    2) For mov:

    http://myip:80/myapplication/mov:h26.../playlist.m3u8

The mov link is for the .mov file with h264 video and mp3 audio.

Do I need to encode the file differently?

    Thanks,

    Ashish

For both 2 and 3, use "mp4:" prefix.

    Hi Richard,

I tried your suggestion but did not work. The link that I tried was:

    http://myip:80/carnegie/mp4:filename.mp3/playlist.m3u8

    I also tried:

    http://myip:80/carnegie/mp4:filename.mov/playlist.m3u8

    Only this works:

    http://myip:80/carnegie/mp4:filename.mp4/playlist.m3u8

    Also,

Does Wowza actually serve multiple formats from a single mp4 file like through some master protocol, or does it simply serve whatever format you upload in a player?
