Go ahead: publish your live streaming content from Wowza Streaming Engine 4.5 to Facebook

We're very excited to tell you that Facebook Live integration is officially available with the release of Wowza Streaming Engine 4.5. The integration of Facebook Live as a Wowza Streaming Engine stream target furthers the global reach of your streaming content. This  makes Facebook one more destination that you can publish to simultaneously using Wowza Streaming Engine. The net result is greater success and a simpler workflow for customers who rely on live streaming video in their businesses.

Get Wowza Streaming Engine 4.5 and start publishing to Facebook today! For more information about publishing to Facebook, watch our Facebook Live–Wowza video tutorial.

Create your own connections to publish live streaming content anywhere

Wowza Streaming Engine provides integrated connections to many popular destinations including Facebook, YouTube, and CDNs such as Akamai and Limelight. Thousands of our customers publish to these destinations, but more and more people want to scale their publishing to still more (sometimes niche) locations. With this release customers now have the ability to create a generic stream target that receives an Apple HLS stream from Wowza Streaming Engine. This feature is aimed at developers who want to do the following:

  • Send HLS streams to destinations using any desired path and/or communications protocol
  • Modify and customize the playlist and chunks using the Java API

For more information, see How to send Apple HLS streams to a generic destination. If you are simply too excited and want to jump right in, for access to the full documentation and sample code, see the Wowza GitHub repository for creating a custom Wowza Streaming Engine Apple HLS stream target (push publishing).

There's much more cool stuff in this release!

From scaling to infrastructure integration, Wowza Streaming Engine 4.5 brings you a ton of other new features, including…
