Repair MP4 files created when Wowza crashes

I have situation where a server crashed while recording. I cannot play the MP4 file it was writing at the time. Is there any way to repair the file so it can be played?

Thanks

There is not a Wowza tool for this. But there are many options that can be had with a quick google search: “fix corrupted mp4”. If you have success, please do report back. Remember to back up first.

Edit: I’ve been informed this won’t work. The file is not just corrupt. It is missing way too much data to be recovered.

If there was a .tmp file alongside the recording it means it wasn’t finished, the recording is not recoverable.

I don’t think so, not as far as I know.

So I have had a problem with the server hanging up again. This time I preserved the MP4 and the TMP file. Is it possible to recover it when I have the TMP file?

Here’s the URL where you can download it: ftp://www.starthostingnow.com/xfer/17501.stream.mp4.rar. That file contains the recording (MP4) and the tmp file.

I’ll leave it active through tomorrow 5/23/2012.

Thanks

Hi,

Please can you provide corrupted file sample?

Regards, Andrei.

MP4 File repair can be possible by using file repair software. This software helps you to repair your corrupted or broken MP4 files along with other video files like AVI, MOV etc. This software is available in free demo version so you can download it on your Mac system and try for recovery.

Well, Deletion of photos & important data from the cell phone has become one of the common problem. My friend David also suffers a lot when he accidentally deleted all his mp4 videos from his smart phone. He tried various steps to get those data back but he fails to do that. Luckily, One day he came to know about mp4 Recovery Software by which he is able retrieve all his video file back. Therefore, try it and get your problem solved.
