Newbie questions on sample streams and embedding Wowza content in a web page.

Hi,

I am very new to Wowza and have just looked at some of the example applications and tutorials.

My goal is to have Wowza re-broadcast streaming content from a webcam, and display the content embedded in a web page.

I looked at the following two tutorials to get some idea.

“How to re-stream video from an IP camera (RTSP/RTP re-streaming)”

“Re-streaming an RTSP stream through Wowza Pro (RTSP/RTP)”

I have two questions from having gone through the above:

  1. All the examples bundled with the server include flash applications where the user is required to enter the URLs and content identifiers. Is there an example where this information is passed as a parameter from within the web page. This will be critical for me to be able to directly display the streaming video in my web page.

  2. Is there a streaming source I can use to test/run the tutorials listed above? I dont have an IP Camera or any other confirmed source of RTSP/RTP data that I could test. Searching for public IP Cameras dont give me a direct rtsp URL that WOWZA might accept. The closets RTSP stream I got was the rtsp URLs of the “.3GP” formatted files on m.youtube.com, but again I am not sure if the format is acceptable to wowza, as I am unable to get the tutorial examples to work with them.

Can anyone help me get a working example of the re-streaming tutorials?

There is not a test live RTSP stream. You can get a low-end Axis camera like the m-1011, which is what I have. Then just follow this guide:
