FFMPEG Streaming Configurator

For those who don’t like or aren’t as familiar with CLI input and would rather a GUI for stream configuration with FFMPEG checkout this project: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffmpegstreamgui/

Or view a working version over at: http://10byte.com/projects/ffmpeg/streamgui/index.php?width=650&height=240

Note: Still under development, however, should simplify the use of overlays and multiple streams when it comes to using filters.

For those who don’t like or aren’t as familiar with CLI input

I found this FFMPEG Streaming Configurator to be a valuable tool, however I would like to offer a word of caution.

FFMPEG is an active project. There are many versions of FFMPEG. Each version has different capabilities. Sometimes it is necessary to use a different version that is capable of doing what you want it to do. Improvements are made all of the time.

If you checkout the FFMPEG Streaming Configurator you will find the need to use a script that you must download. The script has caused a great deal of concern because the first line causes FFMPEG to be removed from your system. Then the script goes on to install a version of FFMPEG and x264 …

My concern is there will be no warning to those who don’t like or aren’t as familiar with CLI input and would rather a GUI that their much sought out version of FFMPEG that may already be installed will be lost because they trusted in your idea of a good thing.

I thank God I as able to read that script before executing it and destroying days of hard word all in the name of simplification. It begs the question , "Is this version you are installing capable of doing what you want it to do?

I found this FFMPEG Streaming Configurator to be a valuable tool, however I admonish you to backup your current version of FFMPEG before you use this FFMPEG Streaming Configurator.
