Wowza keeps reconnecting to my ip-webcam due to slow connection?

i’m setting up a live webcam solution. The way the Axis IP-camera is connected to the network is a but odd. Webcam -> Ethernet Bridge router -> Wifi -> Router -> Internet -> Server.

De webcam is about 150 meters away from the router. The Wifi connection is working sometimes a bit slow.

When using VLC to test the RTSP stream it works fine. It takes a while building up but then the stream can be viewed without problems.

When setting up the stream in Wowza, i’m using the exact same RTSP url. The Wowza software keeps reconnecting. I’ve turned on extra logging and tried some extra timeout setting but without luck.

Can someone please help me out? Is the connection not good enough for Wowza?

If needed i can give example urls you guys can check.

Regards,

Rick

Still struggling with this problem. I’m now at the point of buying two “Engenius 5Ghz” accesspoints for outdoor use to make sure the wifi connection is ok. Or is there a way to tune Wowza somehow? Afterall VLC-player has no problem playing my RTSP stream. It takes a while for connecting but it works.

Check my RTSP-stream -> rtsp://wowza:test@94.214.125.173:554/axis-media/media.amp

Running this url in VLC: do cause some timeouts now and then. Apparently VLC is not so picky about that. The Axis log shows this: axis-00408cb5e42e monolith[484]: RTSP session D9310830 timed out.

Regards,

Rick

What is the fundamental problem? Is it that the video stops when played in a flash client, forcing the user to refresh their browser?

As you can see I was able to play your stream in Wowza just fine:

Just follow the RTSP camera tutorial: How-to-re-stream-video-from-an-IP-camera-RTSP-RTP-re-streaming

So, what’s the problem? Is it that the video stops when played in a flash client?

The problem is that when i start my (live) stream in the “Stream Manager”. Wowza keeps generating logging (see above) and further does nothing.

It could be happening because of a bad (wifi) netwerk connection. Before i want to invest in better equipment i wonder if Wowza can be tuned somehow? (timeouts, etc…)

Any idea’s?

As you can see I was able to play your stream in Wowza just fine:

Just follow the RTSP camera tutorial: How-to-re-stream-video-from-an-IP-camera-RTSP-RTP-re-streaming

Arggghh… can’t believe it… Just checked the config_files again and changed NOTHING… Now suddenly it’s working! Restarted the server a few times and tried again. Yes, it’s fine now. Really don’t know what the problem was.

Thanks anyway!
