Live Streaming for HLS: only audio (mp3)

Hi,

I’ve followed tutorial on “How to publish and play a live stream (MPEG-TS based encoder)” and tried to access multicast stream with HLS.

What I see in playlist is only .mp3 fragments (linked to my input stream), I do not have TS fragments which include video and audio. Any ideas ?

A side question regarding Multi-bitrate, what I’ve understood is that I need an encoder outside of your solution to produce a stream per bitrate properly aligned. Do you have any recommendation on such encoder ? Do you plan to integrate one in your solution ?

Thanks

How is multicast involved?

What is the video and audio encoding details?

Is there a stream we can look at? If so, send it to support@wowza.com.

Yes, key frame alignment is a requirement. Wowza 3 which is not in Preview and scheduled for Sept or Oct release has a transcoder feature which will ensure alignment.

You will have to transocde. Wowza 3 transcoder should work for you, but it Wowza 3 is only in Prevew. Release is not till Oct maybe.

Try VLC in between transcoding:

Here is a metadata example:

metadata is support in Flash RTMP streaming mostly at present.

My test is to ingest udp stream to your server and deliver it to client by HLS.

My stream comes from an ASI/IP gateway and is available on our local network.

MPEG2 for Video & MPEG1 for audio

I’ll try to grab it but it may be heavy. Do you have any reference streams ?

Thanks, then in your R3, your server will be able to deliver the different bitrate streams from one input stream. great.

Another side question, could you give me a link on metadata management if you support this feature.

Thanks

Sorry, I’m really newbie with your product…

It works better with H264 input and first tests are ok on our STB !!!

Very good support

Thank you
