No it doesn't.

Wowza nDVR is HTTP streaming, not rtmp streaming.

ok. im struggling to find a player guide that works for dvr + transcoding. jwplayer is well documented on wowza for transcoding, but then dvr doesnt work with it. is there a recommended player that brings these two features together well?

You can use OSMF players. There are examples that ship with Wowza or Strobe or Flash Media Playback (hosted Strobe player), or you can use Silverlight player with Smooth streaming.

the OSMF player that ships with Wowza didn't work well with a ?DVR manifest file... but the others did, thanks.

Right, it won't work with Flash RTMP clients including JW Player. Take a look at the example players that ship with Wowza.

Is this still the case? I just cannot comprehend how a player like JW that works with both wmv and rtmp cannot be configured to play any static file (which is all the flv files are) the wowza serves up. Is it because the content would need to be transcoded somehow into a different container that JW can play? I mean, Wowza has a transcoder and now Wowza is not free (at least not to my company) so....this seems like a major shortcoming.

You need a Flash HTTP client (which requires the OSMF framework) for nDVR, and JW Player does not support that at present.

Flowplayer has this capability

http://flowplayer.org/plugins/streaming/httpstreaming.html

Or the Flash Media Playback player

Curious, which OSMF player that ships with Wowza isn't working well and what behavior are you seeing?

Also, what players did work well?

There have been some changes to the html wrapper around the various OSMF players that we ship as examples to provide larger buffers for live streaming. Make sure you have the latest example/LiveDvrStreaming/*.html and *.swf files.

So, JWPlayer can't be used with Wowza nDVR? We have to use another player if we want nDVR functionality?
