install Windows server 2008 on cPCI card that has Core i7-2655LE and Intel® QM67

Hi Wowsa forum,

I am working on a compact PCI platform that has Core i7-2655LE and Intel® QM67 (with HD3000). I installed windows server 2008 and then installed Wowsa Sever.

I saw that the platform does not enable the HW acceleration in quick sync thus it enables only SW acceleration which yields to Much higher CPU utilization - furthermore the WOWSA SW “says” that “quick sync is not available”.

When I looked at the attach link https://www.wowza.com/docs/server-specifications-for-intel-quick-sync-acceleration-with-wowza-transcoder , I realized that I need a Windows service workaround to enable Wowza Transcoder Quick Sync hardware acceleration.

Do you think that the below workaround will help with my Core i7-2655LE and Intel® QM67 (with HD3000)

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-enable-hardware-accelerated-transcoding-when-running-as-a-windows-service

Is there something I need to know before I install this workaround?

Please assist,

Best Regards,

Abraham

Hi

This work around should work for you, as is states that it has been written for : Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.

As you are using Windows Server 2008 there should be no problems.

All the information you need is already in the links you supplied.

I’m afraid you are just going to have to try it out,

if you are unsure you can always refer back to those links.

I can only suggest you have a look at the restore point for Windows if you have any doubts.
