Where is my PUBLIC address???

Hi, I am new in Wowza…

How can stream live video and audio from a different computer to my server?

Now I stream to rtmp://localhost:1935/live… and it works

But I need to know what is my public ip address for my Wowza server? Because I want to embed a player and I need public rtmp address?

Can you answer this questions please?

If it is a Windows computer you get it from cmd with command ipconfig, in linux it is ifconfig

You can find the public ip address in this site Ip-details.com

I guess you are talking about a computer that is connected to a router. The router admin should tell you what its IP address is. And you will need to do port forwarding in that case, to route requests for 1935 to the computer that is running Wowza. My router web admin shows its IP on default page, labeled as “WAN IP”. Yours may be labeled and/or located differently. Port-fowarding is also a little different in various routers, but essentially same.

Hi,

Yes, you can use your public IP. You do not need to use a domain name. A domain name just gets translated into your public IP by DNS servers.

BTW, I usually go to whatismyip.com. Good info there for you, too.

agligorijevic1998,

Here are some player examples:

https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-use-longtail-jw-player-5-with-wowza-media-server

If it is a Windows computer you get it from cmd with command ipconfig, in linux it is ifconfig

it’s windows 7… yes I knew for that … I have many of ips what is for wowza… 192.168.. is my local ip…

but i need public… because I want to stream from another computer that is not on my network… is it possible?

I have a friend and he has a server like this RTMP://streaming.***.com/live…

On NO-IP.com you can register your DNS like a domain name like this: studiog.myftp.org… this is working fine… i use it for GAME servers, because my ip changes

What now? How can I find my PUBLIC wowza ip address?

Ok! I have done it. What now? I log on routers admin http://192.168.1.1 and on virtual servers tab I added 1935 as Wowza port… but I want to stream from another computer that is not on my network or connected to my router. can I use my PUBLIC ip address that I get here http://ipchicken.com/. Or I must register a domain name…

Thanks randall, now I know my address… but how to create a player with my RTMP stream

Your public IP address is most likely not the same as your computer’s IP address. Your public IP address is your external address that the rest of the world identifies you as. Use this address when you want to connect to your network from other places on the Internet.
