JAVA Qualifications

Hi guys,

Was wondering if you can help me out. Before I post my custom job needs, I wanted to make sure I understood what specific JAVA qualifications are required in order to work on the Wowza platform. I understand that “Eclipse” would be a required skill. What else would be required?

UPDATE: Just to be clear, I’m interested in knowing what “technical skills” would be good to have in terms of the JAVA framework.

Hello Adrian,

In short, one must know the Java programming language, have an understanding of streaming technologies, and be familiar with Wowza Streaming Engine and its API (http://www.wowza.com/resources/WowzaStreamingEngine_ServerSideAPI.pdf). To which extent such knowledge is required, depends a lot on the case.

“Eclipse” is a so-called “IDE” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eclipse_(software)), and after having installed Java, Eclipse, and the Wowza plug-in for Eclipse, it’s possible to develop custom extensions to the Wowza Streaming Engine.
