Streaming from LevelOne FCS-0030 IP camera crashes flash player
I have a small problem with RTSP restreaming from the FCS-0030 IP camera. When I try to play the stream in any Flash Video Player (tried JWPlayer5, JWPlayer6 and OSMF), the flash plugin crashes.
I have an application, where I use few Sunnel IP cameras to re-stream video and record the stream with no problem, only that the LevelOne camera is trouble-maker (the odd thing is that the recordnig part of application works flawlessly).
I tried to setup a seperate live-only application with same result. Followed all tutorials, tried every option in Application.xml I could find in tutorial and forum.
VLC shows only one video stream in RTSP, codec: H264 - MPEG4 AVC (part10) (h264), resolution: 320x192, framerate: 25fps and Planar 4:2:0 YUV full scale picture format.
Camera has the newest firmware installed.
Any more ideas what can I do with this problem, except throwing that camera into the garbage can?
It seems you're right, Andrew, about the encoding in camera. Transcoding the video stream in WMS solved the problem. For now.
So another question is how to figure out what is wrong with the encoding in video stream, so I can tell the manufacturer what he f....d up in camera firmware. I had some issues with cameras from sunnel at the begining (the rtsp didn't want to work at all with WMS!!). I managed to make them to change a lot in their firmware, so I think with LevelOne I could do the same.
Besides, my cpu's have some better things to do then transcoding h.264 -> h.264, causing only image quality losses.
Any ideas how to examine the video stream from camera and tell what causes flash to die?
I already did the tests you mentioned, so right now I'm pretty sure the video stream is causing the problem. In my application I transcode the audio stream from G.711 to AAC anyway, so it never was the issue.
