Thumbnail generator?

Hi I’m using wowza with vods3 so we stream directly from S3. I was wondering if it’s possible to make a thumbnail generator with wowza, or at least have it pull out a frame at certain points from a file on s3? There are thumbnail generators out there but they’d require that I copy the whole video file to the server to get the thumbnails.

I don’t have a link handy, but if you search the rest of the foum, someone from wowza (Charlie?) posted some code at one point that shows how to extract a keyframe as an image via a module running within wowza, so you could pull the thumbnails as the stream records/plays. You’ll then have to upload them to S3 yourself in the background.

If you (or anyone else) is interested, I’d like to hire someone to help solve that problem for me with Wowza - I need to get something that pulls thumbnails from the videos - that are streamed from S3 (vods3) - at intervals and then saves them to S3. I think this should be possible? I think Wowza is the right tool to do this and there isn’t another piece of software that can do it more easily?

I’ll pay whatever a fair amount is if someone can do that?
