Using Stream Keys Instead of Username/Password Auth

When reviewing source authentication options for Wowza Streaming Engine I have only managed to locate the Username/Pass authentication system. This is working great for our initial testing. However, to simplify the process for our end users we would prefer to utilize a Stream Key authentication flow. After digging into the Wowza documentation as well as community forum posts I have been unable to find a well documented solution for this.

So my first question is if this authentication flow is even available in Wowza Streaming Engine? If it isn’t I am curious as to why and if anyone has managed to solve this issue on their own after building a custom solution with something like the Wowza IDE.
