How to use TLS with the REST API together with Wowza Streaming Engine Manager

I switched on TLS for the REST API. Now I receive an error when I try to log in to the Streaming Engine Manager:

Wowza Streaming Engine Manager could not connect to the Wowza Streaming Engine service(http://localhost:8087). Verify that the Wowza Streaming Engine service has started and is running.

How do I configure Streaming Engine Manager or Wowza Streaming Engine correctly to either

• make the REST API available via http only on localhost or

• make Streaming Engine Manager use https instead of http?
