Why can I connect to Streaming Engine with OBS, but not GoCoder

I have been having a problem connecting Wowza GoCoder on my phone and Tablet to my Wowza Streaming Engine.

I was able to connect to Streaming Engine using OBS on my MAC.

When I connect using GoCoder, I get a connection Error. Nothing shows in the Streaming Engine logs regarding the Error. GoCoder does not have any logs that will help me troubleshoot. I have verified that my Host IP, Application, Stream Name, and User/Pass are correct. I still can not connect using GoCoder.

Any help is appreciated.

The Streaming Engine is Running Ubuntu 16.04. I have even tried re-installing Streaming Engine on a different server and still got the same result.

Hi Thomas,

Is your device using GoCoder attempting to connect using WiFi or the mobile network? It may need a public IP to connect to if you’re using the mobile network, but this sounds like it could be related to NAT/Firewall.

Connecting to the LAN with WiFi might resolve the issue if so.

Otherwise, are you seeing the connection attempts in the Wowza Streaming Engine logs? These may hold additional clues.
