Hi, I have found different questions on this forum trying to explain VOD origin-edge configuration, all of them end explaining the mediacache solution, but for me is not clear how it affects to the origin-edge configuration, it seems that is a edge solution but is not clear how we pass the VOD from origin to server, in any of the questions appears how to configure origin server they only talk about setting an edge server with mediacache…

What kind of workflow/configuration are you looking to setup with Wowza?
When it comes to VOD, Wowza provides the ability to setup a VOD application which would can use the MediaCache sources.
There is also VOD HTTP Origin application option. This allows you to use an HTTP caching infrastructure.
Origin - Edge for VOD is not an option that is available in Wowza Engine.

you configure storage in media cache(keys,urls…) then you linked the origin to the server by this solution.
this way, connection+cache service is provided
