live streaming with On2

Hi wowza team,

thank you for wonderful wowza server.

i installed On2 Flix live,attached a USB web cam , i am able to send video from web cam to Wowza using Live example,

now actually a file gets created at {wowza home}/content folder,

at one side on2 continues appending video , at the same time wowza reads that file,but wowza will be lagging on2,

at some time wowza reaches end of file and video gets stopped,though on2 continues to write to that file.

cant we direct video from on2 or any other tool to Wowza.

if there exists any other tool please let me know

b’coz we want to use wowza for live tv option.

With the “live” stream types, it is expected that there will be some lag. But if users aren’t talking to each other and don’t see the source in real-time, the way you do, they can’t tell.

The “live-lowlatency” streamtype has less lag.

Be sure you have properly set the “live” stream type. To do this follow the steps in the QuickStart guide for setting up a live application. In the end you will create a [install-dir]/conf/live/Application.xml file and change the Streams/StreamType to “live”.

What streamtype are you using in Application.xml? You didn’t confirm, but it should be “live” or “live-lowlatency”

i’ll check all the settings and let you know.

One thing is that while both wowza and on2 are running[on2 is started first],

at some point wowza tries to read that part of the file which already has been locked by on2 ,at this point live example is stopped, i am restarting whole sample which again runs from first, am i right.

please let me know any other way to stop such problem.

i learned that On2 has to take input from web cam or capture card, then convert this input video in to WMS compatible,

Where as Wowza reads this file while at the other end On2 writes the same file,

please correct me if i am wrong.

live tv demo is working fine now,

i reinstalled wowza server and applied new patch WowzaMediaServerPro1.6.0-patch12.
