Moov atom in beginning

I’m using OS X 10.9, Final Cut Pro X 10.1. No matter what settings I use to export my movies Final Cut always puts the moov atom at the end instead of the beginning of the file.

How do I fix this? How do I move the moov atom?

I believe I found a converter before and downloaded a .zip file but I’m not sure what to do what that file. There was no app that appeared after opening it.

Anyone having a similar issue?

Hi,

FinalCut Pro may have an option to save the file with the moov atom at the beginning,

when exporting as a Quicktime move.

Failing that, mp4box is a popular tool for this purpose. Perhaps it’s the one you tried?

After you’ve saved the file using your other application, you would then use a simple command line to fix the file:

MP4Box -inter 0 vodfile.mp4

Here’s a good resource to learn more about the tool and find different download options.

It’s available for Mac, Windows and Linux.

Hi,

That’s the Windows installer. There’s another link to the download site that has other platform installers, including MAC OSX10

This is the download page.

You’ll need the one labelled OSX(64bits, >=10.6)

Once downloaded and installed, you’ll need to locate the MP4box binary and run the command

from my post above in a terminal window.

There is a GUI with the tool, but I’m not familiar enough to say how that’s used.

Best regards,

Daren

I went to the webpage you provided and downloaded the file. Its an .exe file and when I go to my downloads and click to open it, text editor opens and its just a bunch of random text. How do I use the program?

Also where do I put the command line you’re talking about?
