How do I set up SMIL playback?

We are using Wowza player with Wowza Streaming Engine. We have set up an adaptive bit rate live stream. We are trying to set up SMIL for this. We have followed the instructions in the documentation, but are unable to get the SMIL to playback on the Wowza player.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello @Keerthivasan Subramaniam, sorry to hear it’s not working for you. If it doesn’t work in any of the test players, the only way to resolve this is to submit a support ticket and our engineers will test your SMIL file and all other related files to locate the issue. If it’s not the SMIL file, they will find the playback problem for you. Thanks and be sure to update the community if you could when it is resolved.

Did you test the SMIL file/ live stream in all the other test players already? To see if the SMIL file works in any other player?

Hello @Rose Power-Wowza Community Manager, I read through the links you provided. Tried SMIL again. It still doesn’t work. On a related note, is there any other way to rename the streams in ABR streaming. The SMIL files provide the title attribute. Is there an equivalent elsewhere?

Thanks @Iyus Dedi Putra for sharing this. Yes, you do need to enable the transcoder and restart the application. A little popup window tells you to click restart. The video we created just recently shows you all the steps for a SMIL file. Please do test if the stream works without ABR as is suggested above by Iyus.
