Wowza Cloud - Crop 16:9 Input to Portrait 9:16 Output

Hi,

Does anybody know how to send a 16:9 video stream to Wowza Cloud and transcode it so it crops the left and right portions of the video and sends a Portrait 9:16 RTMP output?

Per the Cloud Manager, we don’t have a way for you to do that, but there may be a way to do it in Streaming Engine. Sorry we don’t have a solution for you at this time through Cloud.

Not an option yet in Cloud, but you could try this in Streaming Engine- it requires a bit of custom code. It’s more easily accomplished on the player side though.

Although the cloud engineer says you could try this:

Set the fitMode of an output with a hidden property…that might actually do it. transcoder property output, key:fit
