Which GPU?

I’m currently at the task to update our old Wowza server.

After reading: 4 Tips for Sizing Streaming Server Hardware and Wowza Streaming Engine Transcoder performance benchmark I still have some doubts.

Our production environment should be able to process up to 15 incoming streams transcoded to 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p and 240p.

Our current set up is:

• Centos 7
• 2x CPU, 6 cores/CPU, 2.5 GHz)
• 64 GB RAM
• GPU: Tesla K10.G2.8GB

Witch graphic card do you suggest as a replacement for Tesla K10? Do you have any experience with Tesla T4? Do you suggest any other GPU?

Our technical support team strongly advises you work through a support ticket for this since 4.7.8 Engine release has a lot of breaking changes. Yes, we do have customers use Tesla T4 with the most current drivers from NVIDIA and our engineers can guide you on that in your ticket. They need to test your transcoder consumption first.

I can tell you we always suggest that you use the transcoder to balance NVIDIA accelerated transcoding across multiple GPUs if you haven’t done that.
