Question by Rhys Causey · Feb 01, 2016 at 03:02 PM · live streaming and encoders

MPEG-Dash in Chrome 48.0.2564.97 (Mac) broken

Hi,

It appears that live streaming with MPEG-DASH no longer works with Wowza and Chrome 48.0.2564.97 on Mac (released last Wednesday). It works fine on Windows, with the same Chrome version, and reverting to Chrome 47.0 on Mac fixes it. I've tested this in a player based on Google's Shaka player, as well as the Wowza MPEG-DASH test player, with the same results. Is this an issue with how Wowza is doing MPEG-DASH or is it just a bug in the new version of Chrome for Mac?

Thanks,

Rhys

Hi,

For other users, a fix has been developed for this, and is available in the latest developer release (4.4.0.1). If you do not have access to this software patch from the My Downloads tab of your Wowza Portal account, do send a support request so that we can provide you with a link.

Michelle
