Hi, can you embed wowza streaming engine if you have a Dynamic IP address. I have AT&T Fiber internet plan. If yes, can you pls forward me the instruction how to set it up.

For clarification on your question; are you referring to streaming to/from your WSE server, where WSE is installed on a machine that has dynamic IP (meaning it changes)? If so, if the IP changes, then you would need to update the streaming urls with the new IP. You may be better off with using domain names instead (DNS names).
Hi Rose, yes my WSE is installed on my home Windows PC server. AT&T internet home service provides internet with dynamic IPs. My question was can I EMBED on a website, the stream from my Wowza server with a dynamic IP? If yes, pls forward me the steps. If not, I will have to order a Static IP which is still available from AT&T but for an additional fees. I hope my msg is clear now. Thanks again!

Hi @Steve H, thanks for the additional info. It’s usually advisable to use static ips if you’re going to make a stream public on a web page, so that you don’t have to keep changing the streaming url every time your ip changes. If you this though with a static IP, do make sure to secure your network accordingly; it’s usually not advised to expose home ips in this way.
Normally, people host their Wowza Streaming Engine’s on a separate “public” network (either hosted somewhere else or on a DMZ), and make sure that it is completely isolated from their private network.
That’s true for any web resource, not just Wowza server. Point being with the static IP. just make sure you have the best security for your at-home network.
