We are making use of the Wowza Free trial to test a system for one of our customers. The customer would like to create a stream that can be viewed by any of their executives in the event of an emergency. The problem is that there are no players on the machines that this would be viewed from and we cannot install add-ons to IE.
We are streaming our source as RTMP from our encoder to Wowza. I can view that stream using the test players or with VLC player.
Is there any way to view the stream without a player or add-ons through IE? Can a player be integrated in a webpage so that add-ons aren't necessary?
Depending on the version of Wowza you have installed, there should be example players that ship with your Wowza Streaming Engine software. If you go into your Streaming Engine server, navigate to [install-dir]/examples, you will find sample applications. If you have a live stream, navigate to LiveVideoStreaming/FlashRTMPPlayer.
Set up a web server. You can install this on the same server as your Wowza Streaming Engine services.
In your web root directory, copy the LiveVideoStreaming/FlashRTMPPlayer directory.
