Engine Stopping every 20 seconds or so

Hi all,

I’ve setup a blank Ubuntu 14.04 server (so no other servcies like Apache etc, its a pure blank OS) with online hosting provider Digital Ocean (I have a VPS). and just installed the latest Wowza Streaming Engine (4.5.0, build 18676), and all installed fine and both the Engine and the Manager services starts fine too, I can access the Manager via the browser fine, and stream to the server but after about 20 seconds (this varies) the Wowza Engine stops but the Manager keeps running. I have to restart the service to get it working.

What I did find however, and this might be unrelated, if I stop the Manager service the Engine continues running for longer, and its only when I started up the Manager service and used the interface for about 30 seconds did the Engine stop again.

Any thoughts? The VPS its on isn’t particularly powerful but I don’t think this should cause it to bomb out.

Do you see any indication of a problem in the logs?

The next time this happens, please zip up your /conf and /log folders, open a ticket with support by following these steps, and send your zipped folders, and a link to this thread as a reference along with your support request.

No nothing is reported in the wowza error log, there was one entry about the stream coming in and the format it was sent not being h264 baseline 3.1 or lower (compatibility issues with old iphone) but thats it.
