Stream alias for mapping one stream to another

Hello,

I am running Wowza Streaming Engine 4.6.0 and recently downloaded the StreamNameAlias addon. However, it was a little unclear on how to get the stream alias to work. In the aliasmap.stream.txt file in \conf folder, I have

Original.stream/*=rtsp://server/$live/$Alias.stream

*=${Stream.Name}

But when I attempt to play the alias, it doesn't connect. Does the alias stream need to be added somewhere else?

We are moving to a new streaming name convention, and I would like to be able to have both streams running. I was hoping this addon could accomplish this task. Thanks.

Hello,

Thanks for contacting Wowza Forums!

Can you confirm you followed this Stream Nam Alias Article and went through the read me document and confirmed the application is setup properly?

It may be worth you opening a ticket HERE and including your /conf and /log files for us to take a look at the configs to confirm all is properly setup. If you decide to open a ticket, Can you provide the following information and this will help me determine where the issue is?

- Your logs in a .zip file, located here: [install-dir]/logs

- Your conf folder in a .zip file, located here: [install-dir]/conf

- Helpful Article on creating a .zip file: http://www.wowza.com/forums/content.php?425-How-to-create-a-compressed-zip-file-in-Windows-Mac-OS-and-Linux

regards,

Jermaine
