After upgrading wowza from 4.7.1 to 4.8.5 invalid HLS chunk URLs takes long time to terminate.

Recently we have upgraded our wowza streaming server from version 4.7.1 to 4.8.5. Before upgradation wowza was giving HTTP 404 error for any invalid chunk URL requests & we were getting that response in milliseconds… But after upgrading to 4.8.5 same URL is taking long time to respond & wowza retries that url 20 times before giving timeout. These invalid chunk URLs are affecting the performance of valid chunk requests.

Please help to resolve this issue.

Since you are upgrading from 4.7.1 please note that Streaming Engine had some breaking changes in 4.8.0 that carried over into 4.8.5 so this could be the reason. Please send us the ticket though so we make sure all your applications are running smoothly on 4.8.5 and thank you for upgrading. We’ve made so many improvements with security and functionality since 4.7.1.

Sorry that we cannot resolve this in the forum since it requires complete access to your Engine files and logs. You will need to submit a support ticket, but we will most definitely find where the break is and correct it. Thanks.
