IHi! I work as a chap support manager for a logo designing company that design businesses related things for the organization such as logos, custom website and social media design. For few days I am receiving complaints from my char support team that our live chat support goes down. We are planning to get it to change by Wowza chat. I just wanna know what will be annual charges for it. Thanks
Wowza Streaming Engine isn’t a chat server; it’s a streaming media server. Although theoretically possible; I don’t think it’s a good idea to use WSE for chat.
I know this is a old topic but I would like to add to this. Media servers are best when you need real-time audio video primarily and chat can be a good tag along thing. If you want just chat you need a simple system that uses websocket or ajax, mqtt or even cloud based pub-sub mechanism, to implement two way text communication. The cost is wayyyy lower (in fact can be free as well). There are commercial offering as well as open source chat systems that you should look into.
