nvenc on Mac OS X

Hi,

I have a EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Founder’s Edition 8GB 256-Bit GGDR5 DVI HDMI VR that I would like to use in a Mac Pro for multibit encoding using Wowza Transcoder.

In the docu I see that NVENC support is for Windows and Linux. Mac OS X is of course a Linux variant.

Can NVENC be used with Mac? Any experience?

Hello,

Transcoding on Wowza Streaming Engine is available on Linux and Windows servers but unsupported on Mac OS X.

It NVIDIA/NVENC transcoding should work for you on these other OS platforms though. Also worth noting that NVIDIA GeForce cards are restricted to two simultaneous encoding jobs.
