Wowza Stops Working Suddenly

Hi, I’m new to the forum and needing some desperate help! I have the following server:

E3-1271v3 / 32GB RAM / 2 x 1TB HDD / 1Gbit Port

The server is running: Wowza Streaming Engine 4 Subscription Edition 4.8.0 build20200213142111

and MediaCP as a Live streaming panel to create and edit them.

In the past 5 weeks wowza has stopped working 6 times without me touching anything, and the datacenter says the error is happening because the server runs out of RAM, the server has 32 gbs though, is it normal for wowza to stop suddenly ? has anyone experienced this and found a fix? or could throw me a bone in trying to figure this out?

I’d really appreciate any insight on this issue I’m having as it’s been a huge headache.

Hey @Gustavo Kost. The only way we can diagnose this is with a support ticket. The engineers can then have full access to your hardware specs, your Engine config and with some tests can determine what may be using all the memory. Sometimes, it’s not obvious to a lot of users what it was despite the warning, but we do have the tools to find the cause.

It happened to me too once and it ended up being an plugin that was running in the background using up so much RAM and CPU, my Engine kept shutting down as well due to lack of resources available on my computer.

Hi Rose, thank you for the reply! I’ve gone ahead and submitted a ticket hopefully we can get to the bottom of this, It’s been a few weeks of back and forth via email and no reply or solution quite yet. thank you.
