By default, Wowza Media Server records AMF data events to .mp4 files, but does not record onMetaData events.
There are two properties which control the recording of .mp4 files: mp4WriterRecordData and mp4WriterRecordOnMetaData.
mp4WriterRecordData allows you to turn on/off AMF data event recording. If mp4WriterRecordData is set to: true, you can then turn on/off onMetadata event recording.
For most cases, the default settings record the data which is generally needed for data events. If onMetaData events isn't enabled, the onMetaData event will still be sent and is automatically generated by the Wowza media server during the playback of the .mp4 file.
The built-in default configuration comes with the settings below. To modify, you'll need to add these properties in [install-dir]/conf/[app-name]/Application.xml /Streams/Properties and then edit the Value.
<Property> <Name>mp4WriterRecordData</Name> <Value>true</Value> <Type>Boolean</Type> </Property> <Property> <Name>mp4WriterRecordOnMetaData</Name> <Value>false</Value> <Type>Boolean</Type> </Property>
