Installation on GoDaddy's Dedicated Servers

Hello,

I just purchased the Wowza Media Server and currently have a dedicated server with GoDaddy. They were able to do the installation for FMS for a small charge, but apparently cannot do the same with Wowza.

So, how exactly would I install it there? Their site isn’t particularly intuitive to use. I’m fairly computer savvy, but I’m definitely not a programmer by any means. Or would it be decently complicated and recommend that I hire someone for this specific task?

I need this installed on my dedicated servers so that I can run Flashcoms community chat program on my site.

Thanks for your time and any response is much appreciated,

Alex

Do you have root access to the server at GoDaddy? If you do, you can follow installation instructions in the Quick Start Guide for your specific OS:

You also will need to have Java installed, if not already installed on that server. We recommend installing the latest Java JRE from here:

We can also recommend a 3rd party consultant to help you. If you are interested please email sales@wowza.com and reference this post.

Thank you very much for the response. I’ll check it out and consider getting a 3rd party consultant.
