Default issues live streaming on iDevices

    Hi,

I installed wowza trial edition 3 with patch (3.0.2.02 build877 (20 October 2011)) on windows and I push stream from a FMLE (h264 baseline 3.0). I created a web page with flowplayer without any issue.
All works well on computers but on iDevices I have issues :

    1) I receive only video frozen (only one frame)
    2) nothing happens
    3) video plays well during 5 seconds then stops
    4) sometimes msg on iphone : "The operation could not be completed""

when I check wowza logs, I get :
    INFO server comment - LiveStreamPacketizerCupertino.handlePacket....
INFO server comment - LiveStreamPacketizerCupertino.endChunkTS.... Add chunk...

    INFO cupertino connect...
    INFO stream create testnico
    INFO stream play testnico
    ...
    INFO stream stop testnico
    INFO destry testnico
    INFO cupertino disconnect...
    etc...

    any idea ?

    regards
    Nicolas

    Hi
What are your key frame settings at the moment?
There may be an issue with that as its not mentioned above, this should be set to 1 or 2 seconds.

    Hello nvanhaute1,

In FMLE use these settings for best results:

Video: H.264 Baseline Profile Level 3.0 (iPhone/iPod Touch), Main Profile Level 3.1 (iPad 1,2)
Key Frame Interval 2 seconds, frame size 320x240, frame rate 15fps
Audio: HE-AAC or AAC-LC up to 48 kHz, stereo audio OR
    MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3) 44.1 kHz, 128kbps, stereo audio

    thanks for your answers

@Randall, I need to stream to maximum (up to fullHD) devices so :
    1) 320x240 is clearly not enough for me
    2) that has to work with iphone/ipod... and ipad1/2

    any idea ?

You can publish multiple streams to Wowza and use a multi-bitrate .smil. I think your first step is to just get it working on iDevices, in some configuration.
