    error of the apple verification tool

    ERROR: Playlist must have at least 3 media URIs if it does not have an ENDLIST tag.

    WARNING: Playlist has no media URIs.

    ERROR: Playlist does not contain a TARGETDURATION tag. A single TARGETDURATION tag is required.
    in wowza 2 i did have the TARGETDURATION TAG and everything was looking good in te test results.
    the stream that is being loaded is a camera stream from a Axis security camera.
    current wowza version: 3.0.3, windows server 2008 enterprise R2.
    encoding system works properly

    where am i going wrong?

    The "mp4:" in the URL looks suspect to me since you say this is a live camera. Looks like it its trying to do mbr vod not live.

    I would back up and do a single stream first before moving to multi bitrate. Make sure that works.

    I would look in my log for any suspicious warnings or errors.

    If you can't get it from there, I would Zip up your conf/ folder and log/ folder and send it to support@wowza.com. Also specify what URL you are initially using to request the playlist on ios.

    p.s. FYI, the playlist retrieval for iOS is a two phase process. The returned value you show above is what gets returned for the first returned playlist. It will not have target duration in it. The second request is made with one of the 3 URLS shown in that first returned value.
    This returns a playlist that contains the target duration, chunks to play, etc.

    i have now noticed (after some debugging) that the encoding of the audio-only stream gives me the TARGETDURATION tag error. can anyone shine a light on this?

    Are you referring to one of the Encode blocks in your transrate.xml file above? Which one?

    when i remove that one the error disappears.

    Add this property to the /conf/[app-name]/Application.xml LiveStreamPacketizer/Properties container:
    <Property>
    	<Name>cupertinoCreateAudioOnlyRendition</Name>
    	<Value>true</Value>
    	<Type>Boolean</Type>
    </Property>
