    Default Application - Sub directories

    Hello,

I have a setup with liverepeater-origin and some edge server.

All work fine but i had a question about applications/conf directories.

I to push to the origin server with : rtmp://X.X.X.X/dir1/dir2/stream . For that i create directories as {appsfolder}/dir1/dir2 and {conffolder}/dir1/dir2/Application.xml

But on my edge server i configure my OriginURL as : rtmp://X.X.X.X/dir1/dir2
    I create {appfolder}/test/test2 and {conffolder}/test/test2/Application.xml

    But i can't see the stream on the edge server. I can see it only if there is only one subdirectories under {appfolder} {conffolder}

It is possible ? It is a restriction of Wowza ? Or i had misconfigured anything ?

    Many thanks

    In other words,

I want to use liverepeater origin and edge server and use custom streaming url on each server.

    Example :

push to rtmp://host/dir1/dir2/dir3/stream on the origin

and i want to get this stream on my edge server and stream it on a different url like rtmp://host2/dirX/dirY/dirZ/stream

This my final goal using these repeater live servers.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi
    All you need is here,
    http://www.wowza.com/forums/content....based-encoder)

    You should have:
    [Wowza-install]/applications/dir1
    [Wowza-install]/conf/dir1/Application.xml

    Your encoder should have:
    FMS URL: rtmp://[Wowza-ip]/dir1
    Stream: dir2/livestream

This gives you the full URL to the stream as:
    rtmp://[Wowza-ip]/dir1/dir2/livestream

These are not directories but stream names so to get three you would do this:
    FMS URL: rtmp://[Wowza-ip]/dir1
    Stream: dir2/dir3/livestream

This gives you the full URL to the stream as:
    rtmp://[Wowza-ip]/dir1/dir2/dir3/livestream

    Thanks Jason for your reply,

I will test this method soon. But i think there is a problem of encoder authtentifiation ? We can apply a publish.password only for the entire application, not for each streams

All stream pushed to rtmp://[Wowza-ip]/dir1 will have the same user/password.

Ok i have try this solution.

The my origin server, i can't get the stream using : rtmp://[Wowza-ip]/dir1/dir2/livestream but only with rtmp://[Wowza-ip]/dir1/_definst_/dir2/livestream

Also, how can i create a stream like rtmp://host/otherdir1/otherdir2/livestream on my edge server and getting the stream from rtmp://[Wowza-ip]/dir1/_definst_/dir2/livestream
    ?

    Hi everybody,

Anyone had a solution for this problem ?

    My setup (simplified) is :

Source ---> Wowza (configured in liverepeater-origin) --------> Wowza (configured in livereapeter-edge) <-------- Player

    Thanks

    Hi
You are correct with the /_definst_/ part and once you are down to the next level in the path [Application]/[Path]/[Stream] you need it and can't be discarded.

    Are there any other problems?
