Buffer on shoutcast restreaming

Hi,

I’d like to know if it is possible to increase the buffer size of the wowza stream.

I’m restreaming a shoutcast stream, but probably on the encoder side we have very small line interruptions.

We encode the audio stream to a shotcast server: if I listen to the stream with a media player (winamp, itunes …) I get the stream with a delay of about 15 seconds and there are no problem listening (the buffer covers the small holes).

But if I listen from Wowza using a flash player, I have only 6 seconds of delay and the player stop the stream and it restart after less than a second (like small holes).

I know, I have to work to get a better connection, but is it possible to set wowza to increase his buffer when it gets the stream from the shoutcast server?

Wowza and shoutcast are installed on the same server.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Luca

Luca,

Try increasing the netstream.bufferLength

Richard

No, there isn’t a way to do that. I don’t think the Wowza jitter buffer works with shoutcast streams

Hi Richard,

this is on the client side, right?

Is not possible to set a similar parameter on the server side?

Wowza acts like a client when it gets the stream from shoutcast, so does it have any buffer?

thanks

Luca
