Default livestreamrecord writing only 100Byte files

    Hi all,

I'm quite new to wowza stuff.
I'm currently trying to setup the following system:

    1. Wowza server Version 2.1.2 producing Live Stream ( works fine and in productive environment )
    2. another Wowza 3.0.3 (for my development) getting live stream from server 1.

Server 2 is configured as liverepeater-edge and is working fine as well so far ( Video / Audio is ok )
Now I want to record the live stream from server 2.
I have installed and configured the liverecording plugins and I can see the stream e.g. in the flash client.
Wehn I press record button the logs output says :

INFO server comment - Wowza Media Server is started!
    INFO server comment - ModuleStreamRecord.onAppStart
    INFO application app-start _definst_ live/_definst_
    INFO stream create - -
WARN server comment - LiveMediaStreamReceiver.connect: failure
INFO server comment - HTTPStreamManager.onHTTPRequest: Publish stream successfully started [live/_definst_]: flv:stream1
    INFO session connect-pending XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX -
    INFO session connect XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX -
    INFO stream create - -
INFO server comment - MediaStreamMediaCasterPlay: startPlay
    INFO stream create - -
    INFO server comment - LiveMediaStreamReceiver.connect: rtmp://IP:1935/TV1/_definst_/stream1:rtmp://IP:1935/TV1/_definst_[stream1]
    INFO stream play rtmp://IP:1935/TV1/_definst_/stream1 -
    INFO server comment - ModuleStreamRecord.startRecording: stream:stream1 format:flv append:true outputPath:/usr/local/WowzaMediaServer/vhosts/live/content/stream1.flv versionFile:true startOnKeyFrame:true recordData:false

so it's looking fine for me, but the file is not growing....
File size is stopping at 102 Bytes
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 102 2011-12-08 15:06 stream1.flv
and at 160 Bytes with mp4
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 160 2011-12-08 15:44 stream1.mp4

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong

    every hint would be nice.

    regards

    Lorenz,

(This keeps coming up, and I mean to write it up.) The way to do it is use .stream file on the edge containing full rtmp url to origin stream, then use that to record. Something like:

    file: /content/origin.stream
    contents: rtmp://[wowza-address]:1935/liveorigin/myStream

Then record origin.stream. The resultant file will be origin.stream.flv or origin.stream.mp4
