The MediaCache system uses prefixes to refer to MediaCache content locations. The package includes a guide and a sample MediaCache.xml configuration

The prefix is part of the stream name. What you have shown so far is how you play a video that is the local content folder.

Using SimpleVideoStreaming example player, it should look something like this:

    Server: rtmp://[wowza-address]:1935/mediacache
    Stream: mp4:http1/sample.mp4

Where http1 points to a content server where sample.mp4 is stored.

If the rtmp url you have shown is working, then you have not setup MediaCache correctly. I can't re-write the guide that is included in the package, so please review that carefully. Or you can write to support@wowza.com and ask for list of independent consultants.
